Art On Paper Brussels - October 2026
I'm very happy to be showing a group of works on paper with NQ Gallery at ArtOnPaper Brussels, which opened today following yesterday’s preview. This is the fair's 10th edition, with around 60 international galleries devoted entirely to work on paper, from Old Masters to contemporary.
This is the first time these works have been shown and provide a real snapshot of my paper explorations going back as far as eight years. Niqui van Olphen of NQ Gallery selected these pieces specifically for this fair. They're smaller than my better-known canvases and closer to studies, and they're some of my favourite things to make. I love working on paper as it feels less precious than a canvas, so I'm more willing to take risks. If something doesn't work, I just start another one, and that freedom often takes me somewhere I wouldn't have gone otherwise. A lot of ideas for my larger paintings begin this way or in my sketchbook, so it's been interesting to see these earlier pieces again with fresh eyes.
It's lovely to see them hung together in Brussels, and I'm grateful to Niqui and the NQ team for bringing them there. You can see the full selection in this post below.
